Training opportunity for journalism students and young journalists to learn about all things Cohesion Policy
Today, the Commission has launched the application period for the 8th edition of Youth4Regions, a programme targeting aspiring journalists. The programme provides journalism students and young journalists with a week of learning in Brussels in October 2024, where successful applicants will follow training sessions, receive mentorship from more experienced journalists and work with them in the press room, and will visit the various EU institutions and media organisations.
Applications are accepted under three categories (general journalism, photojournalism, and video journalism) and should be submitted by journalism students and young journalists from EU Member States, neighbouring, and accession countries.
The successful winners will also be considered for the prestigious Megalizzi – Niedzielski prize, awarded on 9 October 2024 and dedicated to recognising outstanding work by young journalists.
Youth4Regions is the Commission’s flagship initiative aimed at fostering the growth of journalism students and young journalists by providing first-hand exposure to the EU. Since its inception in 2017, more than 210 individuals from across Europe have successfully completed the programme, benefiting from its enriching experiences and valuable insights.
The application form and the conditions for participation are available on the programme’s webpage. The application period remains open till 8 July 2024. The Commission will cover all programme costs for the participants.
